Belleza a Su tiempo / Beauty in His Time

Sunset / Puesta del Sol

        The setting sun means that night is just around the corner; but if there were no night, would we anticipate the coming of day and gaze in rapture as the sun flings its golden rays over the dew-draped world?

La puesta del sol nos indica de que ya viene la noche; pero si no habria noche, ¿será que nosotros esperaríamos el amanecer con anticipación y nos deleitaríamos cuando el sol lanza sus rayos dorados sobre el mundo envuelto en un traje de rocío?

Let´s Explore / Exploremos

Several years ago, as Dad and I were driving across the mountains,  he stopped and said he wanted to show me something.   Years ago they used to hike up up to a waterfall that was located in huge horseshoe canyon, and he was pretty sure we could see the top of it from the bank alongside the road.  So we scaled the high bank and after walking a little way, sure enough , there it was.  Catarata El Angel (The Angel waterfall).  You could hear a faint roar, but all you could see was the top of it.  (the picture above was taken on that occasion)  Ever since, the memory of what I had seen seemed to beckon  back to explore the river and see this natural marvel.  Finally, about a month and a half ago, I had the opportunity to penetrate the green mantle that envelopes everything in these mountains and experience the power of this pristine river up close. A roaring, mist-filled canyon into which this river plunges -a conservative guess would give this waterfall about 250 feet of fall onto some rocks surrounded by a grassy/mossy meadow -not what you would expect to find in the middle of a cloud forest.  Wow! More beautiful and exhilirating than I had imagined!

These things remind that in the beginning, before sin spoiled the life of man, the whole world was perfect and good.  It´s, and our, Creator still cares and wants to have a relationship with us, if only we will seek his face.   Open your eyes, and look at the beauty of nature that still bears testimony to a wonderful God!

Hace varios años, mi papá y yo ibamos cruzando los cerros, cuando el paró diciendo que quería enseñarme algo.   Hace muchos años ellos subian donde habia una gran catarata dentro de un canyón, y el pensaba que se podria ver la cima de ella si trepabamos el barranco que estraba a la orilla de la calle.  Entoces escalamos el barranco y de veras, allá a lo lejos se veía Catarata El Angel. Se podia oir el rugido del agua, pero solo la parte de arriba se lograba ver. (esta foto lo saqué en esa ocasión.)  Desde entoces, el recuerdo de lo que habia visto parecía llamarme a explorar este rio y ver cual era la belleza de esta maravilla de la naturaleza.  Al fin, hace como mes y medio tuve la oportunidad de penetrar dentro de este manto verde que envuelve todo lo se llama de las montañas, y experimentar el poder y la belleza de este río cristalino.  Un canyón lleno de neblina, y que resunena con el estrépito de gran cantidad de agua callendo -quizás unos 50 metros-  y estrellandose contra la rocas alrededor de las cuales se extendía una pradera, pero de muzgo.  Todo era mucho mas asombroso de lo que yo jamás esperaba.  

   Estas cosas no recuerdan que en el principio, antes que el pecado arruinó todo en la vida de los hombres, el mundo entero era perfecto.  Nuestro Creador todavia se interesa por nosotros y quiere que tener comunión con nosotros si tan solo buscaríamos Su Rostro.  ¡Abra sus ojos y vea la belleza de la naturaleza que todavia da testimonio de un Dios maravilloso!
